In her former life, Lauren was the lead developer and architect of her company's ServiceNow platform. After seeing how impactful specifically custom development was, she pursued and acquired a technical evangelist role within ServiceNow itself. She has been on the App Engine team since its official kickoff in 2018, working to make App Engine success stories out of some of ServiceNow's largest customers.

**ServiceNow App Engine "Speedrun" #1 ⚡️ Self-Service Marketing App -** After the successful dry-run last week and appropriate revisions, we've gone ahead and scheduled the first ever public App Engine livestream! For each livestream, we will start from ground zero with a list of "customer" requests and a "win condition" for this version of the app to be complete. Then, in one sitting, we will go through each stage of development, from ideation to deployment, timing every stage and teaching along the way. By the end, you will not only have unedited proof of ServiceNow's speed and quality BUT accessibilty to the app we built through GitHub, as well as oodles of resources to help them in the App Engine journey. SPOILER ALERT - There may be a challenge at the end with prizes...
For our first official App Engine "Speedrun," I'm going to be designing and building an app that allows salespeople to interface in a self-service fashion with marketing / the product team. Using some sort of request, they will immediately be linked the information they can disclose in that given circumstance, benefitting not only the salesperson but the company overall so no one is accidentally spilling the beans.
While it came with a considerable learning curve, this week we successfully got all of the software needed to livestream up and running and tested! Demoing virtually through Zoom / Teams / whatever is great for one-on-one conversations but when the goal is to speak to a broader audience its rather limiting. There’s no built-in way to evangelize an event is happening, there’s no self-service way to watch a recording, and you come in using a work email. These are issues all absolved by YouTube, so we thought it would be a great platform to start a new series of content. Stay tuned for more...
